Evidence of successful completion of one year full time involvement, or 50% over two years in the field of Addiction Medicine Agrees to sit the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) or the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) exam.

Kaufmann The Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine conferred the status of Certificant to ten Canadian physicians on 2000 October 21. They were Dr. Nady el-Geubaly and Dr. Bill Campbell of Alberta; and Dr. Raju Hajela, Dr. Peter Mezciems, Dr. Joe MacMillan, Dr. Michael Kaufmann, Dr. Mike Bloudoff, Dr. Jake Bobrowski, Dr. George McDermott and Dr. Rudy Regehr, all from Ontario. These physicians are all Certificants of the American Society of Addiction Medicine(ASAM), which they achieved after writing a specialty examination, administered by the U.S. National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). They also underwent an evaluation process established by the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine. Drs. el-Guebaly, Hajela, MacMillan and Mezciems have also been awarded the status of a Fellow of ASAM (FASAM). Dr. Hajela expressed immense gratitude to the leadership and staff of ASAM who provided invaluable assistance in the Certification process. CERTIFICANTS FOR 2001
